ABOUT

LARA BRUNNER
I'm Lara Brunner, a 25-year-old artist based in Zurich. I was born and raised just outside the city and currently work part-time as a nurse. A profession I’ve been connected to from a young age. While I find deep meaning in my work at the hospital, I’ve always needed a space to breathe, reflect, and recharge outside the fast-paced and often intense hospital environment.

For a long time, I searched for the right outlet trying yoga, movement, and other forms of relaxation, but nothing truly resonated with me. That changed the day I wandered into the Bauhaus store and found myself drawn to the shelves of acrylic paints. I picked up a few supplies, and from the moment I held a brush in my hand, something clicked. Painting became more than just a hobby; it became a space where I could lose myself, find calm, and feel completely free.

My work is guided by both intuition and intention. I don’t aim for perfection, rather, I explore emotion, energy, and the freedom of expression without fixed rules. Through my art, I want to create a sense of openness and remind people that freedom begins in the mind - that we all have the power to define our own limits.
